Student & Family Support Team
As a mental health professional, professional educator and professional musician, Mr. Mayne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our school. He has worked in a metropolitan-area community mental health agency in community support and taught in the DC and Colorado Public Schools. As a seasoned professional trombonist, music is a huge part of Gary’s life as he continues to perform and nurture his passion for Latin music. He is thrilled to serve as Destiny’s Counselor, providing care and compassion to our students and school community.
Parent and Community Engagement Coordinator
Mrs. Klippert has worked in the non-profit sector for the last seven years and is thrilled to bring her experience with community engagement, social justice advocacy, and nonprofit development with her to Destiny. The majority of her professional experience has been spent working with youth and children’s programs, and she is looking forward to continuing her work with youth. She is passionate about fair housing opportunities and currently sits as Chair of the Tacoma Coalition to End Youth Homelessness. In her free time, she likes to travel, cook, and play music.
Ms. Sanchez spent her childhood between California and Mexico, and has been in the greater Tacoma area in 2008. Her professional background is in operations and customer service and she has a heart for serving people. She has spent the last few years volunteering in her daughter’s classroom, which stirred up in interest in education and brought her to Destiny! In her free time, she loves to spend time with her children and does freelance photography. She is excited to serve Destiny’s parents and students!
