Student & Family Support Team
Ms. MacArthur comes to Excel excited to support ALL students. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University and graduate degree in clinical social work from New Mexico Highlands University. Ms. MacArthur has experience working with children, adolescents and families in the school and mental health agency settings. She is really excited to be serving as Excel’s Counselor, providing care and support to students and their families.
Parent And Community Engagement Coordinator
Strong ties to families and communities are a cornerstone of Stevie’s educational philosophy. She looks forward to growing with the Excel community this year, with a strong focus on Excel’s values and equity. Since leaving her native state of Montana she has worked in community organizing and education-focused nonprofits in Oregon, New Mexico, and Washington. Stevie comes to Excel with a BA in Politics, Sociology, and Russian Language from Willamette University in Oregon and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington.
Ms. Youmans is a parent of 2 scholars at Excel Public Charter School and a younger daughter in the Kent School District. This is her first year at Excel and she is returning to the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years! She has been extremely happy watching her sons thrive at Excel. Ms. Youmans enjoys working at the front desk, even when it’s crazy, and has loved getting to know the students as well as their families. She is very proud to be a part of such an amazing school!
