About Destiny Middle School
With an enrollment of just under 200 students, Destiny Charter Middle School enrolls children from diverse neighborhoods in the Tacoma area. Students benefit from engaging with peers from Tacoma’s Eastside, Hilltop, and South End neighborhoods as well as those from neighboring vicinities. Our inaugural class promoted in June of 2018; 20% of whom were accepted to local magnet high school programs. Approximately 20% of our student body utilizes special education programming, for which we offer a variety of services to ensure their success.
Our families have been actively involved in the creation of Destiny. Our Advisory committee, consisting of 20+ families and community leaders met monthly to give the critical input and local context to the Green Dot Model to include the school name, colors, and community engagement strategy.
Our teachers make the difference.
At Destiny, we know that every child's path to success is unique, and it's up to us as educators to help your student find his or hers. Our teachers don't want to just get students into college and careers--they want them to thrive at every stage of life. Maintaining a focus on growth in every classroom practice and achievement assessment helps propel students to long-term success and prosperity.
Destiny Middle School opened its doors in August 2015 to the inaugural 6th grade class. Since then, we have expanded to offer a comprehensive middle school program to students in grade 6 - 8.
