The Destiny Difference
Most people don’t remember middle school very positively. There are a lot of contributing factors to that, not the least of which is the possibility of being “unseen” by teachers and staff. At Destiny, we see all students! Our small school community allows adults to know each and every student by name. We pride ourselves in maintaining close relationships with students and families, even after students have promoted and begun high school.
Destiny is driven by five Core Values:
We take on the challenges we face.
We choose greatness in big and small actions.
We take care of our community.
We do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
We fight for the future we deserve.
Teachers and staff reference these values each time they praise or correct a student; they are an inherent part of our culture. Destiny Charter Middle School is committed to providing the following to all students who join us on our educational journey:
- A public middle school that’s free and open to all students
- Personalized learning for all students
- A teacher mentor for every child
- A college-going culture
- Technology to enhance learning
- Family partnerships and programming
- Free transportation options for all students
We encourage everyone, even if you have only slight interest, to come check us out and to talk with some of our staff. We believe you’ll like what you see, and consider us the hidden gem of Tacoma’s east side.
